Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is a two year regular training course approved by NCTE affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University Shimla. The curriculum of the course intends to professionally equip future teachers with necessary theoretical knowledge, practical skills and attitude to handle the challenges of the classroom in the present scenario. Our college is a pioneer to start this course in the year 1998 in Himachal Pradesh under self-financing scheme. The course was started to meet the growing demands of the prospective teachers in Himachal Pradesh and adjoining states as well. It is one of the most prominent and wanted teacher education institution by the students seeking admission in B.Ed. it has always strived to maintain excellent standards in the field of teacher education.
The department has highly qualified staff, spacious classrooms, well equipped labs (Language lab, Social-Science lab, Science lab, Computer lab, E.T. lab, Psychology lab) work experience room and a Seminar hall managed by experienced personnel in their respective areas. The college has well managed and well equipped library with latest books, magazines and journals. We have most of other services like hostel facilities for girls, canteen, dispensary etc. The college has facility for indoor and outdoor games. To conduct different curricular and co-curricular activities, the department has constituted houses with staff members as mentors being assisted by two or three students of each house.
The Department has a broad vision and mission to enhance knowledge, skills, capacities among student-teachers and community members and to produce quality teachers and also to sensitise student-teachers regarding various social issues so that they can understand their roles and responsibilities for the society. Our dream is to make the department an ideal model in the field of Teacher Education.
